Tmesis Theatre creates, develops and shares world-class physical theatre through performance, participation and an international festival.
Based in Liverpool the company has created and developed high quality, funny, evocative and accessible physical theatre for the past twelve years. Tmesis has earned a reputation nationally and internationally, touring to over ten countries, receiving critical acclaim for the unique style of movement-based theatre and their development of physical theatre in the north through their annual international festival, Physical Fest.
Tmesis Theatre was founded in 2003 by Kate Cave, Yorgos Karamalegos and Elinor Randle, it was run by Yorgos and Elinor from 2005-2010, when Yorgos relocated to London. The company is now led by Artistic Director, Elinor Randle.
As producer for the company I support the strategic development and planning for all activity . I have developed a robust monitoring and data collection which has allowed the reach and depth to be evaluated. Working with the company on audience development for their national tour of 'That's Amore' (2015) saw an increase in bookings of 43% when tour booking the national tour of mid-scale 'Happy Hour' (2016/17/18).
Happy Hour is continuing to be booked with our spring 2018 performances. at Carriageworks Theatre, LEEDS, Gala Theatre, DURHAM and Waterside, SALE.
The companies currently developing a new show, Beyond Belief, in association with Unity Theatre, which will premiere on 27 September 2018 and available to book from October.
